Hamburg (w&p) - Top award for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts: The business and finance magazine "Capital" has declared Hamburg's Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten to be the Best Grand City Hotel in Germany. According to the assessment of the judging panel, published on Monday, the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, located on the Inner Alster Lake shore in Hamburg, must be applauded above all for its comprehensive wellness provisions and in-house gourmet restaurant, Haerlin".

The Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten shares the renowned title for 2008 with the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg and The Regent in Berlin. "Capital" magazine's top ranking list is assembled from the ratings of the six leading hotel guides, "Aral Schlummer Atlas", "Der Feinschmecker-Guide", "Gault Millau Deutschland", "Der große Restaurant & Hotel Guide", "Michelin Deutschland" and the "Varta-Führer". So that ratings in the form of various symbols such as stars or points could be compared, "Capital" magazine indexed the ratings, summed up the findings and used these to create an arithmetic model.

The Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg became part of the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts portfolio in 2007.
